Whether it’s watching some downloaded series while flying to your holiday destination, or blasting something other than Mariah Carey while doing your Christmas shopping, ANC headphones can come in mighty handy. We can help with that.

You can now win yourself a pair of Burtone ANC Bold headphones to sort all your noise-cancelling needs for the festive season. To enter you need to pop onto your social media platform of choice (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, or TikTok) and find the Stuff Box post on our profile. These lucky people are going to Comic Con Africa this year (without paying for it) https://stuff.co.za/2022/09/15/these-lucky-people-are-going-to-comic-con-africa-this-year-without-paying-for-it/ Thu, 15 Sep 2022 12:36:00 +0000 https://stuff.co.za/?p=152889 Comic Con Africa is just a week away. Thousands of people are going to be there, but some don’t have their tickets yet. Some are about to, though. It’s time to announce the lucky winners of ten general access/photo voucher combos. It’s also time to announce the winners of the four weekend passes Stuff and VS Gaming have to give away.

We can fully appreciate just how hard it was to choose between a Weekend Pass (which gets you in for the whole event) or a General Access pass, plus a chance to meet a celebrity. In fact, it was so hard that we made you make the choice of which you’d rather have. Happily, most of you made the right choice. That is, both of them. But there is a catch. If you happen to win one, you’re ineligible to win the other.

How to win Comic Con Africa

There are other things you need to be aware of when it comes to Stuff giveaways. First of all, humans don’t really come into it. Our competition winners are always drawn the same way — we make a computer do it. Computers don’t worry about making selections. They just RNG the heck out of it. There were a few limiting factors as well — in line with our Terms and Conditions, you had to be a South African resident and you couldn’t work for Stuff, VS Gaming, or Comic Con Africa at all. That just wouldn’t be fair.

There was one last requirement. Ticket winners have to get to and from Comic Con Africa on their own. It doesn’t matter if you’re based in Jozi or Cape Town, attending the event is on you. Transport costs… are not included.

But now that we’ve drawn it all out as much as possible, here are our Comic Con Africa winners.

Weekend Pass

Nicolene Morrings
Monique Grobler
Nicholas Ho Leong
Antonette Rutter

General Access/Photo Voucher

Reide Davids
Thato Mocoancoeng
Mashupya Kekana
Jason Weiss
Vincent Sharpe
Tia Swardt
Keandra Bintcliffe
Tanika Naidoo
Amy Janse van Vuuren
Wilna van Staden

If you were named here, keep an eye on your inbox. A message explaining how ticket redemption will work should be along shortly. See you at Comic Con.

Win Comic Con tickets, weekend passes, and photo vouchers with Stuff and Telkom VS Gaming https://stuff.co.za/2022/08/23/win-comic-con-tickets-weekend-passes-and-photo-vouchers-with-stuff-and-telkom-vs-gaming/ Tue, 23 Aug 2022 13:50:18 +0000 https://stuff.co.za/?p=151594 Stuff and Telkom VS Gaming are giving away tickets to this year’s Comic Con Africa, taking place from 22 to 25 September this year. Before you go dashing down to the form (and who are we kidding, you’re gone already), there’s something you need to know.

First off, there are two different prizes to enter for. Telkom VS Gaming has provided Stuff with fourteen prizes. Picking one or the other will be a little difficult, however. See, they’re both awesome. The catch? If you win one, you’re ineligible for the other.

First up, we have ten General Access passes. These will get you in for a single day of the convention. But, to sweeten the deal, each General Access winner also gets a photo voucher, which will allow for a photo op with one of the Comic Con guests. Think gamers, writers, artists, actors. You know, famous people.

Or… you might opt to try for one of four weekend passes. You don’t get to have a brush with fame, but you do get to roam the Nasrec Centre in Johannesburg for the entire event if you want to. See what we mean? It’s a tough choice. But you could always enter for both. That would probably be fine.

VS Gaming the system

There are a few things you should keep in mind. First, visit the Terms and Conditions for all of the important (but boring) admin information. Remember that this competition is only open to South African residents, preferably those from Johannesburg. Anyone outside the city who wins is responsible for getting to the venue themselves. If this is you, pop on down to the entry form and get your entry in. Entering means that you agree to be bound by the Ts&Cs — unless you work for Stuff. If you work for Stuff (or VS Gaming), you don’t get to play with everyone else.

We’ll announce our winners on 15 September. That’ll give everyone enough time to ensure they actually make it to Comic Con Africa. Just remember, these prizes don’t include travel or accommodation. If you’re outside of Johannesburg, you’ll have to arrange those bits yourself. Prizes are also not transferrable and anyone winning one is ineligible for the other. Good luck.

One shiny new Samsung Galaxy Watch3 is going to this lucky winner https://stuff.co.za/2021/11/26/one-shiny-new-samsung-galaxy-watch3-is-going-to-this-lucky-winner/ Fri, 26 Nov 2021 10:00:03 +0000 https://stuff.co.za/?p=137476 If there’s one thing we like more than testing stuff, it’s giving stuff away. But, since we don’t get to keep test units, it’s really hard for us to give kit away. We could… but then we’d be asked some serious questions by the people who actually own the device. Life’s too short for that conversation. It’s a discussion we don’t have to have today, though. Samsung gave us one Galaxy Watch3 to give away to one lucky Stuff reader, and all they had to do was a little light reading.

If you wanted to get your hands on a Samsung Galaxy Watch3, all you had to do was a) be a Stuff reader, b) know about the giveaway, and c) enter the giveaway. Many of you did. So many of you. But, like Highlander, in the end, there could be only one.

How the Galaxy Watch3 giveaway works

As usual, before we got to the winner, you should know about how Stuff does its competition draws. It’s all nice and official, and we don’t let humans anywhere near it. Except to write this bit, of course.

There’s a very specific way things are done when it comes to giveaways. Our competition winners are always drawn the same way — we make a computer do it. Computers don’t worry about making selections. They just RNG the heck out of it. There were a few limiting factors as well — in line with our Terms and Conditions, you had to be a South African resident and you couldn’t work for Stuff or Samsung at all. We don’t do that here.

What we do do is announce who just won a Galaxy Watch3. Our winner is:

Marc Shaw

Congratulations to Marc, who should expect an email in their inbox sometime soon. As for everyone else who entered, stick around. There’s more to come from Stuff and our various partners.

There’s a Samsung Galaxy Watch3 worth R7,999 waiting for one lucky winner https://stuff.co.za/2021/10/29/samsung-galaxy-watch3-give-away/ Fri, 29 Oct 2021 12:38:01 +0000 https://stuff.co.za/2021/10/29/samsung-galaxy-watch3-give-away/ We get the feeling there are going to be quite a few people who will want to get their hands, or wrists, on a Galaxy Watch3 45mm Mystic Silver.

If you want to be that lucky winner, then knowledge is going to be your power. Simply find out more about Samsung’s latest foldable devices below. Watch out for the amazing features of the Galaxy Z Fold3 5G and Flip3 5G, and be ready to answer a simple question.

The Galaxy Z Fold3 5G and Galaxy Z Flip3 5G foldable devices, recently launched by Samsung, are offering everyone one-of-a-kind smartphone devices experiences. Galaxy Z Fold3 5G is a three-in-one powerhouse that fits in your pocket, allowing you to multiply your productivity in ways only a foldable can achieve. The Galaxy Z Flip3 5G’s new larger and customisable Cover Screen and overall 120Hz seamless performance, along with bold new colours and accessories, make it the ultimate balance between style and function.

Adding to the ground-breaking innovation, Samsung has incorporated some of its most durable technology and materials to ensure these devices hold their pristine design in any lifestyle – at work or play – by introducing intelligently-crafted durability solutions to its foldable range including:

The world’s first IPX8 rating1 in foldable smartphones – The Galaxy Z Fold3 5G and Galaxy Flip3 5G are the world’s first water-resistant foldable smartphones, and include the same level of water resistance as Samsung’s Galaxy S series devices. This makes it easy to take your device anywhere. When caught in a rain shower, you can now stay connected to friends and family, while keeping your device safe.
The strongest Aluminum on a smartphone yet – The new Armor Aluminum frames are 10% stronger than past Samsung aluminum frames on smartphones to provide more durable device. One of the key benefits of Armor Aluminum is its reliability against external impact and any force or drop of your device. It is applied on the body frame and hinge cover to ensure long-lasting quality however you use the device.
Samsung’s toughest glass now on Galaxy Z series – The new Galaxy Z series devices feature Corning® Gorilla® Glass Victus™, which provides twice the scratch resistance and is 50% less breakable than the previous glass, Gorilla Glass 6. It is applied on the Cover Screen and Rear Glass, perfect for keeping your displays in their original condition.
More scratch-resistant protective film and optimised panel layer – The Galaxy Z series incorporates a new protective film on its display and optimized panel layer, which is 80% more durable than previous Samsung models. This makes everyday use more comfortable when folding and unfolding the device.

Ways to win the Galaxy Watch3

There are just a few things to bear in mind if you’re in the market to win this Galaxy Watch3. First, visit the Terms and Conditions for all of the important (but boring) admin information, and remember that this competition is only open to South African residents.  Then, pop on down to the entry form and get your entry in. Entering means that you agree to be bound by the Ts&Cs — unless you work for Stuff. If you work for Stuff (or Samsung), you don’t get to play with everyone else.

We’ll announce the Galaxy Watch3 winner on 26 November. That’s more than enough time but it never hurts to get your entries in early.

Huawei Nova 8i giveaway: Find out if you’re a winner https://stuff.co.za/2021/10/29/huawei-nova-8i-giveaway-winner/ Fri, 29 Oct 2021 11:57:14 +0000 https://stuff.co.za/2021/10/29/huawei-nova-8i-giveaway-winner/ It was at the end of September that we announced that we’d be giving away a new Huawei Nova 8i smartphone to one lucky winner. The passage of time has brought us inexorably here, to the point where we’re actually going to give it away.

Securing your very own Huawei Nova 8i was laughably simple — all you have to do was enter your details into a form, answer a question that was basically just your opinion, and you were in with a shot. And that’s what loads and loads of you went and did. But, before we get to which of our entrants got lucky this time, first we need to go over how we give away stuff for free.

Giving away the Nova 8i

You see, there’s a very specific way things are done when it comes to giveaways. Our competition winners are always drawn the same way — we make a computer do it. Because computers don’t have mates that entered the competition (except for that one incident, but we caught that one in time). There were a few limiting factors as well — in line with our Terms and Conditions, you had to be a South African resident and you couldn’t work for Stuff or Huawei at all. Because that’s just not cool.

By now, you’re bored with how all of this works. It’s time to get to who is taking home a new smartphone.

And our winner is:

Amanda Cloete

Congratulations to our lucky winner — keep an eye on your inbox, there’s going to be an email there that we need you to answer. For everyone else who didn’t win, stay tuned. We’ve got something new turning up very soon.

Want to win the latest stylish HUAWEI nova 8i smartphone, valued at R6,999? https://stuff.co.za/2021/09/30/win-one-huawei-nova-8i-phone/ Thu, 30 Sep 2021 13:28:39 +0000 https://stuff.co.za/2021/09/30/win-one-huawei-nova-8i-phone/ Huawei Nova 8i giveawayThere’s a new superphone on the block, and it’s the Huawei nova 8i — a 6.67in wonder that incorporates Huawei’s new Edgeless Display and unmatched internals. And… Stuff has one to give away.

All you need to do to become eligible is a little reading, and maybe watch a video, but you were going to do that anyway. Details of Huawei’s latest smartphone are just below, with the entry form just a little lower than that. You know what to do.

With its ultra-slim design and 6.67-inch HUAWEI Edgeless Display, the HUAWEI nova 8i offers an unmatched viewing experience for its price bracket. The device is ideal for movie lovers and avid gamers. Photographers will also love its 64MP AI quad camera, which comprises a main camera, an ultra-wide angle camera, a macro camera and a depth camera that come together seamlessly to take exquisite, professional-looking shots.

The HUAWEI nova 8i also comes with 66W HUAWEI SuperCharge, which means that it can be fully charged in just 38 minutes, or charged for two hours of gameplay within just five minutes. HUAWEI SuperCharge works in tandem with the HUAWEI nova 8i’s 4300mAH three-electrode battery – both are all about giving you as much time on your device as possible.

With an internal storage of 128GB, you can save more onto your new phone – more photographs, more movies and more games. The HUAWEI nova 8i’s Snapdragon octa-core chipset is designed to keep up with your non-stop, on-demand lifestyle. Riding on these high-performance specs and Huawei’s smart memory technology, the HUAWEI nova 8i also comes equipped with 8GB of RAM, which creates a buttery-smooth experience for you to run multiple background apps at once.

We’ll announce the winner on 29 October. There’s a little time, but that’s no reason to sit around and wait. The early… entrant gets the… smartphone?

Are you one of our four R2,500 Battery Centre voucher winners? Find out here https://stuff.co.za/2021/05/14/four-r2500-battery-centre-voucher-winner/ Fri, 14 May 2021 12:04:14 +0000 https://stuff.co.za2021/05/14/four-r2500-battery-centre-voucher-winner/ Do you remember, exactly a month ago, when we gave four potential winners a shot at a R2,500 Battery Centre voucher each? Do you remember how you kinda forgot to enter? Well, it’s too late now. The competition has closed and we’ve drawn the winners. But, if you did enter, then this is the day you’ve been waiting for. We’re announcing who those four folks are, right here and now.

Battery Centre-of-the-universe

But first comes the slightly educational bit. We’ve always got some Terms and Conditions governing our giveaways — for example, you have to be a South African resident and you can’t work for Stuff if you want to enter. That bit’s normal. But there’s also something else this time around, to do with the prize.

You see, we’re giving away four R2,500 vouchers but how you use them is quite specific. They have to be used on one transaction and you don’t get any change (no buying a Coke from the fridge and pocketing R2,495, for example). So if your battery placement is just R1,800, then that’s what’s covered. Make sense?

In that case, let’s get on with the main event. Our four winners are:

Michael Edwards
Letitia Windvogel
Gary Lodewyk
Mike Bernard

Congratulations to our winners. Keep an eye on your email accounts, because you’ll have some communication waiting there soon. And if you’re not a winner, don’t fret. Tune into Stuff on eNCA this evening at 21:30 (on Channel 403 on DStv) and you could be in line to win a Huawei MateBook X Pro laptop worth R35,000.
